Dr. Z's Fearless Predictions
Week 4
"...but Jim, I'm just a doctor...!"
-Bones (Star Trek)
Some teams are in need of the Doctors healing, and others definitely have the anecdote. Here are the fearless predictions for week 4.
AVENGERS vs MIRACLES - Both teams enter the contest at 2-1, fighting for division leads. The Avengers come off a stinging defeat which, inside sources say, could be the result of trading clubhouse leader Tim Brown. Did the Avengers get the bad end of a deal? Only time will tell. Note to GM: Only trade with Fred! The Miracles needed one to pull off a victory this past Sunday, but a W is a W. A nicely balanced team will take on the Avengers, but weakness at the QB spot spell the difference. Avengers over Miracles.
ARSENAL vs PRESIDENTS - The Doctor has been saying all year that the Pres. are a team to be reckoned with. The offense finally came together behind new (and I'm sure permanent) starter Brady. On the other side of the coin, the Arsenal may be imploding. You may find Arsenal owner Aaron Frase driving over crossing guards if his team doesn't come around. It won't get any better this week, the Presidents #2 ranked offense roll the Arsenal.
VIPERS vs INVASION - The Vipers are starting to show some life at 2-1. If only Corey Dillon would wake up, this team might go some places. The only comment about Dillon from ownership was, "He's really good in Madden.". As of press time the Invasion team was in a coma and could not be reached. Vipers win.
THUNDERBIRDS vs MUSTANGS - A message to new ownership: Our draft position for next year WILL NOT be
determined by overall record (worst to first). Nuff said. Mustangs win.
BLITZKRIEG vs TERMINATORS - Blitz Coach Brian Pier was seen leaving the local pharmacy earlier this week. We can only assume that it contained a prescription for Thomas Jones personality disorder. "Sometimes he shows up, sometimes he doesn't." replied Coach Pier "we can only hope this helps.". Meanwhile the Terminators sit atop the division. Might a bit of bad karma strike the Terminators after missing the pizza?, the Doc thinks it does. Blitzkrieg victory this week.
WHOOPERS vs WARRIORS - It appears, that after preying on other owners fears, that the Warriors got stronger. This is not good for the rest of the league. Dave Wessman could only be seen smiling and wringing his hands in glee at a team meeting earlier in the week. The Whoopers hope to ride MVP candidate McNabb to a playoff spot this year. The acquisition of Freeman, to go along with Donovan, just may do that. I look for the Whoopers to put up a good fight, but fall just short. Warriors move to 4-0.
