Dr. Z's Fearless Predictions
Week 2

Well, Week 1 is in the books, and although the good doctor isn't ready to name playoff teams yet, Week 2 should help to clarify the have and the have nots around the league.

ARSENAL vs WHOOPERS - Are the Whoopers QB's as good as they looked week 1? No, but they are better than many thought.  The Arsenal is trying to put together a ground attack to go along with the Culpepper/Moss hookup.  I look for the Whoopers to roll one over on the Arsenal, however the score is close enough to make Chris sweat.  70-66.

MIRACLES vs TERMINATORS - A battle for the division lead - and it involves Tom?! What has our world come to?  It is true however, a very balanced Terminators team looks to quietly move up the standings.  The Miracles on the other side have put together a strong core to build around.  I look for the Miracle foursome of Manning/Henry/George/Gardner to be more than the legit Terminators can handle this week.  Miracles 87-72.

AVENGERS vs INVASION - Does a grudge match get any better?  The Championship defeat still stings in the Avengers camp.  Time has moved forward for the Invasion though, and unless Holt/Owens can come up big it could be a long week.  The Avengers sported a lot of "what ifs" at the beginning of the season, but seem to have turned those into "I will" (as in "I will score points").  Look for the Avengers to drive his rig all over the Invasion. Avengers by 23pts.

VIPERS vs BLITZKRIEG - Would the real Viper RB core please stand up?  The Vipers have to be sweating about now.  What was the building block has come up a bit short, and depth at other spots is weak.  Could be a long year for the expansion team.  The always formidable Blitz. didn't seem like they had the draft they usually do, but have managed to put some pieces in place to work with.  I look for the shrewd ownership to move this team in the right direction.  Overall balance of the Blitzkrieg gives them a tight win Week 2.

MUSTANGS vs PRESIDENTS - The best Presidents team in years?  You better believe it!  A legit Presidents team looks to move to 2-0 over a team they have owned for years anyway.  The Mustangs feel as though they have a team that can do something, but you can't beat the whammy the Presidents have over them (not to mention Warner/Tomlinson).  Look for the Presidents to be atop to standings after week 2.  Pres. 82-78.

THUNDERBIRDS vs WARRIORS -  The defending champs look as though they have put the pieces in place to defend the title.  Priest Holmes does look legit and depth at WR, along with a consistent QB make the Warriors as tough as any team.  The Thunderbirds would like  a "do over".  Ownership has to be saying "My team is better than this, I have....".  Don't worry Todd we've all been there.  I look for the Thunderbirds to show more life, but the Warriors don't wear the ring for nothing.  Warriors by 15.
